What they are...
A "living
will" (or "advance
directive" as it is called in Texas) is a legal document in which you can let
people know your wishes about medical treatment at some point in the
future, in the event that your condition prevents you from letting
them know at the time of your injury or illness.
A "medical
power of attorney" allows you to designate an agent to
make health care decisions on your behalf, in the event you are
unable to do so.
